The Sea’s Gentle Cover

During my road trip through Costa Rica, I spent a few nights in Santa Teresa and quickly learned why Playa Carmen is so popular at sunset. The beach fills with people enjoying the last warm light of the day — but once the sun dips, most of them leave. That’s when the place becomes beautifully quiet. In that calm blue hour, I set up for a long exposure to smooth out the lowering tide, with no one stepping into the frame and without blocking anyone else’s view. Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308g/m², this image captures that peaceful, emptied-out moment.
